About The Mortgage Guide Hub

An independent, multilingual library of plain-language guides to US mortgage programs.

Last updated

The Mortgage Guide Hub is an independent online publication. We write in-depth, plain-language guides that explain how US mortgage programs work. The site launched in October 2026 and publishes in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Tagalog.

Our goal is simple: help you understand your loan options before you talk to a lender, so you can compare offers and ask the right questions.

Who the site is for

We write mainly for people in the United States who are buying a home or thinking about it, especially buyers roughly 25 to 45 years old and immigrant families. Many of our readers are buying for the first time. Some are self-employed, some file taxes with an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number), and some are veterans or live in rural areas.

If mortgage terms feel confusing, you are our reader. We explain each term the first time we use it, and we keep sentences short.

What we cover

Each guide focuses on one program or one big question. Our library covers:

You can browse everything on the all guides page or by topic.

What we do not do

We want to be clear about our limits. The Mortgage Guide Hub is not:

  • a lender, mortgage broker or loan originator
  • a government agency
  • a law firm or a financial adviser

We do not take loan applications. We do not collect financial documents. We do not sell or share your personal information. Our guides are general education, not advice for your situation. Read our disclaimer for the full details.

Why we publish in six languages

Millions of US home buyers are more comfortable reading about money in a language other than English. Mortgage rules are hard enough in your first language. Immigrant families also face special rules about residency status, ITINs and documents, and those rules change.

So we publish each core guide natively in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Tagalog. Translations are written for their readers, not word for word, and every fact is checked against the same official sources. Our editorial policy explains how.

How we work

Every guide starts with official sources: HUD, the VA, USDA, FHFA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the CFPB and the IRS. We link to those sources and note the date each figure was checked. We review every guide at least every six months, and sooner when a program changes. You can read the details in our methodology.

If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so on our corrections page.

How we are funded

Today the site has no advertising and no affiliate links. Nobody pays us to mention a product or a lender.

We may carry clearly labelled advertising or affiliate links in the future. If we do, we will disclose them on the page where they appear, and they will never affect what a guide says. Our advertising disclosure explains the rules we follow.

Who is behind the site

The guides are written and reviewed by The Mortgage Guide Hub Editorial Team. We do not publish individual names yet. When named writers or reviewers join, their names and qualifications will be added to their author pages.

Contact us

Questions, error reports and feedback are welcome. Use the contact page or email . We usually reply within two business days.

Frequently asked questions

Is The Mortgage Guide Hub a lender?

No. We are an independent publication, not a lender, broker or loan originator. We do not take loan applications, collect financial documents or arrange loans of any kind.

Who writes the guides?

The Mortgage Guide Hub Editorial Team writes and reviews every guide. We do not publish individual names yet. When named writers or reviewers join, their names and qualifications will appear on their author pages.

How is the site paid for?

Right now the site carries no advertising and no affiliate links. If that changes, ads or affiliate links will be clearly labelled and disclosed on the page, and they will never change what our guides say.

Which languages do you publish in?

We publish in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Tagalog. Each language version is written for its readers and checked against the same official sources as the English guides.

Can you help me with my own loan?

We cannot give personal loan advice. Our guides explain how programs work so you can ask better questions. For one-on-one help, a HUD-approved housing counselor or a licensed loan officer is the right contact.
